Most will be familiar with the GB3MCB beacon in IO70. It has been upgraded and is currently running a 1 minute cycle comprising carrier, Call-Sign in FSK and data in PI4 format. Still on its original frequency of 50.043 MHz, it is the first beacon on 50MHz in the UK that will eventually form part of the synchronised beacon chain. The upgrade has been funded by UKSMG.
