Incredible story : today at arround 1446z, my 6elts DJ9BV was down, when I hrd weak CW on .110 in my ground plane (18 m up) Yes !!!!!!!!! was Jimmy VP2E/W6JKV- First try he copy me !!! VP2E Anguilla. It looks like the opening that occurred yesterday went almost unnoticed. VP2E/W6JKV and VP2E/K5AND were both up to a good S7, on both CW and SSB, at 50.110 from about 20:30Z to about 22:15Z. I heard them working into I, EH and CT. They were reportedly using a 12-meter boom antenna and 700W. 73

LAST MOMENT!!! On the final approach to the 1999 Pacific trip , the Uru- guay DX Group team have made some little changes in the dates...The DX- Pedition will start on August 5th till 7th from Moorea Is. (OC146),French- Polynesia then will continue from August 7th. Till 17th on Rarotonga Is. ,(OC013),South Cook Is..If transportation is available they will try to operate on Manihiki Is. (OC014), North Cook Is. From August 17th. Till 19th. Next s step will be the island of Viti Levu(OC016)on the republic of Fiji from Au- gust19th till 23the. Finally crossing the entire South Pacific we'll move to New Zealand's north island(OC036)from 23rd till 25th but we don't believe we'll have much spare time to appear on the air.. Operators will be a couple of well known Dxers, Bert CX3AN & Mario CX4CR. We will operate CW & SSB from 160 to 6 metres, mostly lower bands with special emphasis in South America, without forgetting any other parts of the world like some- imes happens... Calls will be announced upon arrival on operation sites be- cause some new rare "Virus" is growing in S.America that uses to appear some days prior to MAJOR Dxpeditions. Although final final arrangements are been made with QSL managing. It seems to be both via CX3AN and/or CX4CR..Anyway will be announced later..-73 to you all and see you on the pile-ups... Bert CX3AN

The 7Q7six beacon was heard in kg33 from 1355 utc till abt 1545 and was 599+ when Ivo zs6axt heard it at 1355.He called me and it was 559 here in kg46 but never went above 589 here.Ivo heard zs6aye working a 7q7 station but the band closed before he could also complete a QSO.73 de Paul

The sun is starting to rock&roll at last: flux 207, SSN 341. That is an record for this cycle. Let's hope things keep going like this until the Sep-Dec time frame. BTW. Nice surprise on Friday night when VP2E/K5AND came back on my CQ. A pPity that the VP2M station came on the band too late for catching the crowd.

Great to see Andy Repetto ZD9BV (locator IF32uw) is now QRV on 6m. Last cycle I worked ZD8 and heard the ZD8VHF beacon a couple of times via the longpath. Lets hope the F2 starts...soon!

Dave, 48750 video is audible here lots of the time from Norway, where there are apparently Transmitters in JO38, JP20, JP53, JP77, KP59 all about the freq. A useful Au indicator for me in the North of Scotland, (IO87)

Can anyone cfm 48248.6 as Varanger in KP59. Still operational? I heard that freq weakly on June 25, 1900-2000Z and yesterday breifly around 2000Z. On the 25th I also had a weak 49750 with trans-polar flutter. I see KP59 is in extreme northern LA. Is there anyone on 6 in that area or in nearby Russia. Incidently this is the only video hrd here in NM during all the Eu activity back east. I'm all dressed up and nno place to go - HI. Vy 73 to all.

Re HAM RADIO Convention: Also there were: 5A1A (Abubakr), HB9QQ, I0JX, ON4ANT, ON4GG. We had a nice meeting in the evening with A61AH, S56A, DL7QY, DK9KX, DJ1OJ, DL7AV ... A61AH will be back in Dubai from 15 July till end of July. He might also get QRV from another rare country. TA2BK said, 6m is now permitted in all TA, also for visitors.

First opening yesterday evening into USA 20.45 to 21.30 . Worked lots of VE2, VE3, W1, W2, W3, W4 from JN26. Around 21.15 the signals were very loud (S7 to S8). After 21.30 the signals from NA falled down very quickly and the band was quite again. Very strong QRM by the EU back scatter signals (YU, 9A1, LZ, YO). 73.

In 30 plus years (I won't admit how many) I have never heard an opening like today. Everything in Europe was in from early a.m. local-1200z(starting with EH) to just a few minutes ago(0000z) . Many stns clg on cw @095 but QRM and QRN(thunderstorms) made it tough at times. I apologize to those who called but I could not hear(time to replace the 15 year old ft-726) but I worked about 10 new country's so all in all it wasn't bad. Wrked Everything from 9A, I, YT, HB, YU, S57 and in essence everything in between. Based on what I have seen the past few days the band seems to be open continuously . I hear either the FP5/ VO1 beacon to the east or the VE4 beacon to the west even at 2:00 a.m.(don't ask what I am doing up at 2:00 a.m.) I'm sure the increase in 6 mtr activity has something to do with it- nice to see it by the way. VP2E/W6JKV worked Just home again trying to find out what I had missed and what's going on at the band. Then heard at 50102 the cq. Great evening, worked lots of W1/2/3 18-20z went to the pub, returned at 2215z, band still open wkd VO/VE3/W1/2/3/4 and catch of the evening C6AGN in FL16, peaked 579, hrd him cq on 097 cw at least 7 times with no takers. Couldnt hear a thing from Jimmy in VP2E when the PA's were calling around 1830z , oh well, better save one for tomorrow hi! GN.

hallo I have a good info for DG ( Cept class 2 stations) German Hamradio DARC have write to the RGTP and say that the will get 3000 Special Licences for 6m also for Cept Class 2. ( Announcment CQ/DL 7/99).I think in the next time DL are get more 6m stations . Sorry for my bad english.

Just watching the cluster, and this is JUST AN OBSERVATION, but taking into account the efforts that the DX-Peditions (VP2E...etc etc) put in to their trips for OUR benefits, isn't spots saying they are begging (to most people a derogatory term) rather demeaning their efforts ?. sign of the times I guess

Last night (24th June) had PY3ARL beacon at up to 55 for over an hour (not bad for 5W into a GP) and hrd PY5CC for a few minutes peaking S7. CN8LI/b popped up occasionally and when it did the PY3/b disappeared - the vagaries of multi-hop Es? No QSOs but at least I could look at my PY5CC qsl and feel happy I left the opportunity for others without such luxuries on the shack wall! Still would have liked to have worked CT3HF though! Hope for more transatlantic condxns tonight, but finding the pile-ups ever harder to crack, perhaps I should become an SWL and just be happy HEARING the DX - missed at least ten new countries in the pile-ups this year. 73 and see you all in the mayhem on 110.

We have certainly come a long way over the past decade. Consider that with a database (spot collection bin), standardized format and proper software: We could actually plot these refraction points just like a weather radar map. I use X-Map Professional for Windows to overlay coverage predictions locked to lat/long but other packages are available. Interested? Best 73 de Bob

At 1300 Z this morning (June 24th), we heard both the VO1MA and FP5XAB beacons. We then heard EH7KW (IM67)at the same time at 50.135 MHZ. We managed to work him at 1318 Z on CW, using 70 Watts into a mag mount vertical in our car in the parking lot of the salt mine! We are listening for you guys across the pond every day for most of the day. We will use CW to pull in the QSO. Please look for us! 73 Ken WB2AMU

At June, 23 after 2010utc, I heard a few stations from NA here in JN59wk: K8TQK (EM89), K9VV (EM79), K0FF (EM49), (K8MFO (EN90), VE1ZZ (FN84), K9HMB (FN52). Heard parts of other calls, too. Sigs were up to S9! Did not try to work them, because I had this pleasure mostly in the past and because of possible TVI in our cable-TV... Worked VE1ZJ (FN95) as a new one. -GL-

This morning at 08.50 I heard a station calling cq on 50110 He gave cq about 30 times before mentioning his callsign. At that time he faded out we me, so I could only read part of the callsign: B?2BH. Anybody has any suggestions what that could have been (is there any BV2BH or BY3BH qrv on 6m) Looks like a long shot , but PA5TA was hearing JE1BMJ at the time. JO98 certainly very rare, JO96 97 seem quite active all the time? Please put on 98! I need 10 more squares for 700 ..worked 23 new ones this past 3 weeks, all over 2500km. Must have heard another 10 which I havnt been able to crack. Nice to have a morning without any video buzzzzzzzzzz.

The DXCC desk can't help: I was told to send everything in and take my chances. It'd be a pity to waste time/money/effort on something that's got no chance. Hello Han, and others. Neil is right, below 50.100 was also clear for me. Normally lots of EU around .110 - but, at the time i heard you, .110 was clear. At best, i'd say 319, didn't copy the full call. Spent the next hour calling CQ/DX on .105, and was called by EUs. I'll be listening from around 06 utc onwards for the next couple of days.

JE1BMJ also into IO83 at 419 but 59+ Eu to Eu QSOs on 110 at the time prevented any possible contact. Han your best bet is to cq just below 100, thats usual clear. 110 is always a mess in Eu. Those looking for outside Eu contacts are constantly tuning. Forget 110 !

Yesterday (22 June) saw a strong opening to the north from here (JO54). Copied several SMs and LAs and the LA7SIX/b. As I live in the north of DL I often wonder, if noctilucent clouds may have something to to with the occurence of Es. ZD9BV now QRV on 6m ! Andy Repetto ZD9BV (locator IF32uw) is now QRV on 6m as from 21/6/99, running 15W CW/SSB into a 5 ele Tonna at 30'. He will be monitoring every evening from 1730 UTC (when he gets home from work) and when possible at weekends. Andy knows about using 28885 as talkback, and can be found on 15m on Sunday mornings - 21.325 MHz USB at 0900 UTC. The last 28 days have been very good from here in the N. of Scotland (IO77ws) - worked 5H3US and 4L5O for new ones, and ZS6, Z23, 9J, 7Q etc. - a good start (at long last!) to the real DX ! 73 Chris

Oh nooo - not again the UA9SIX-story!! I "investigated" last year the "case" UA9SIX and spent some time on that (UN3G helped and some information I gave to Dennis, PE1PEZ). At the end I went in March'99 to Orsk/Russia (some times I have qrl in Aktjubinsk/Kazakhstan - 3 hours drive by car to Orsk) and spoke with some OM's in Orsk and found out: UA9SIX is unknown in Orsk! There was a call UA9SIX in former times but this call was related to an OM in Orenburg/European Russia. This call is no more activ/existend! So we will see which locator "UA9SIX" will use next time,hi! P.S.: When UN3G called UA9SIX yesterday during the nice Es-opening - he didn't answer, hi!!

Well Neil, even at a closer range it was impossible to hear him. I heard ON work him, but had just S9+++ SP and OE stations poluting the band between 110 and 130 with inter-Eu qso's. Re: UA9S. Last year UA9SIX showed up as well (from a different locator though). After a lot of rumours it was concluded that it was a pirate operation probably executed from the Baltic area. According to the prefix lists, the UA9S block is Europe anyway. Seems like somebody has been fooling us again ... For the rest: what a day ! It simply wouldn't stop. Nice opening to Kazakhstan (UN3G), but missed EK6AD again.

Anyone fancy going to 5A1A and bolting the band change switch to 6m? At 2500km its the worst possible distance for me and one you dont work unless they are regular on the band. How do we encourage him more? Not a peep hrd from Af this weekend here, but done a quick count and have hrd/wkd 72 DXCC countries in last 6 weeks, 22 outside Europe. Hard to find much to complain about.....

Today was a great day for EU-AS prop. UN7G (5000 km) was in for hours going up and down. And around 15Z I heard UR5ZEL working several JA6. When UN7G was in there were 49MHz TV signals not heard before like 49749.8 , 757.6 and 759.3 kHz, all very strong.

Fantastic day here in JN26. The band was wide open all the day long from 06.00 to late in the evening hours. Nice opening, first to Russia, with many EW, UX, UT, UR, US, EK6AD, 4L5O and the best one: UN3G at 15.45, then to South-East with 5A1A , 7Q7RM and 9J2BO 599 (new one !). Nice ES also on 2 meters from 11 to 12 utc with plenty of LZ, YO, YU and the best one: TA1D S9+ at 11.44. Es again at 16.45 to 17.15 with 9H1, IT9. Hope it will be the same to morrow !!!

From DXLC.COM ... Comment added at 16:27 UTC on June 20: The geomagnetic field has been quiet today. An M2.9 flare peaked at 15:35 UTC. The source was probably region 8592. Unfortunately the LASCO web site has problems again today making an evaluation of the event difficult. Regions 8588 and 8591 have been reported as spotless today. A new region could be emerging in the northeast quadrant.

GREAT ES!!! Never worked so many stations on 144 MHz in my life. Two new countries on 50 MHz, T9V and HB0/OK2ZR (he says QSL via H.C., but his call is not in 99 callbook!). By the way, I spoke on 24 with D2GG Angola. He reports having an FT-847 and a 50-MHz Yagi on the ground. I asked him to put the Yagi up, even fixed to Eu if he has no rotator, for the forecoming TEP season. 73

The DXpedition to Grass Island, Nunavut is underway. They will be using the callsign VY0O (VY Zero O) and will be operating from CQ Zone 2, Grid FO-03, on 50.175 +/- QRM with high power and a beam. All in one piece. It was a bit hairy landing (gale force winds) but departure was much better. We tried hard for Europe. Worked only EH and CT1. We were calling Eu right till the last minute. I had S9 Plus 60 db reports from N. Eu on 10M one evening and thought we would get you on six then but still no go. We did 18000 QSOs and 4 of them were EME. About 400-500 on VHF. Watch for CY9CWI at the end of July. I will be talking to them and will see if they are taking 6M. We achieved most of our goals but were very disappointed not to get N. Eu on 6M.

It is just true what Frank CFB told. There seems to be an attitude with some (not new) operators here in my area that thinks it is good to call over and over again. I nearly could finish my contact with 9J2BO... They better start learning CW because 10 minutes later it wasn't difficult to work him in CW as PA0RDY showed. It seems that behaviour is getting the same as it was on 144 MHz in the 80's. One of the reasons I left 2 mtrs. and went to six. The biggest problem is that these idiots don't want to learn. Or maybe they can not. Pitty...Anyway it's only a hobby, 73's

When I've worked KP4EIT previously he's given FK68 as his grid, and thats what the QSL says too. Last night he was giving FK58, has he moved? The latest buckmaster details still gives him at the ad I qsl'd in 95 and says FK68. FK58 would be a new grid for me. Can anyone clarify the situation?

Upon my question why 6m is not included in the upcoming R1MVA expedition, the following answer was given: "The reason is that the Russian Telecom authorities did not allow 6m operation this time. It interferes with their TV reception. Sorry about that. I would have liked to see 6m included and productive as it is now. 73 Jukka OH2BR". A pity for those who still need MV.

Hi All. It was nice to work my firsts non-European stations during UKSMG contest last weekend : 4L5O, 4L7VT and TA7V. But nothing heard from 4X, OD, 7Q, etc yet. Also we are planning portable operation during July FD contest on 3/4 07 99 from KO35DG. Will have IC706 and 5 el. yagi on SIX and some 100 - 150 W on VHF/UHF. Call is not finaly known, but perhaps will be LY1KAT/p. So we will keep our fingers crossed to have good openings on SIX. Thanks for reading this and CU on the band.

9J2BO brian was an unbelievable s9 plus 30db here this evening. Even locals don't produce that kind of signals. The Es season sofar is pretty poor, but the links with Spread F (=TEP) propagation (PY,z23,9J2,V5,5H, etc) makes it very interesting. Hi there, Had a good opening to 9J tonight, and was happy to work him in CW (my #93) after the SSB pile-up MESS. I gave up calling him in the SSB pile-up because of those @#$#! guys (mostly DJ and PE-stations tonight and especially one PE7 station whose complete call I will not mention here) who just don't know (or don't want to know) how to work a pile-up... If you're new to the band and don't yet know how to work a pile-up, I'd suggest you LISTEN FIRST how the system works. Give your call ones or twice WHEN the DX-station calls QRZ. If you don't hear him at all, DON'T EVEN CALL HIM! 'Cause I could tell from some guys' calling behaviour, that they weren't hearing him at all! On the other hand, 9J2BO could have worked split too. Would have saved him and us some nerves... Anyway, I worked him a little later in CW. At last.... PP5BC worked at 18:15 with 57/56 reports exchanged. Heard the PY3ARL beacon for ages without activity. Listened for PY5CC but no copy, did here one or 2 EU's wrking him. Also heard weak CW on 50.112, around the same time as a spot for the 9J station. CW was so weak it was unreadable, thus can not be sure it was him. Hello Six Friends: Just work into Europe again. Logged 59 stations in 09 countries. DL(7), I(19), PA(7), OE(1), OZ(2), SP(15), F(1), HB9(6) and SM(1). From the 59 stations, 48 that i never work on SIX. Thats great to see soo many new operators. Thanks to the other that i work before. JO21 was the Black Hole yesterday. Heard DL's in JO41, ON's in JO20 PA's in JO23/33, G's in IOP90/91 etc. working A61AH, but her in JO21 he did not come out of the noise clear enough to justify a call at him. Very frustrating, but that's 6 I guess ... I'll keep hoping. Cheers.

A61 into UK for half an hour 17:45 to 19:15 just workable in IO91 but stronger in the north of the UK! Stations south of having difficulty hearing him. A61AH (LL75) came up here in JN59wk at 1715z very weak with QSB up and down. Wkd him at 1738z with 53. Seems, there were better sigs in the North. Anyway, its a new one, of course. He was handling the pile-up very fast. Most of stations, working him without their LOC - only the report: PSE read the article in SIX NEWS February 1999 from DL7AV about that. BTW, after 18z, he was calling for G. 73 & GL!

your friends and readers that: The Centro Radio Aficionados Montevideo
is one of the most active radioclubs in Uruguay. Who are working better
for that in SIX meters are Luis Alberto Espinosa CX4AAJ & José Luis Rattin
CX5CR . The first , is the builder of the first beacon in 50 Mhz in our
country. It was constructed in may 23 of 1989 and is working without
problems until today. The message say only CX1CCC, the radioclub
callsign, and is located in GF15VD transmitting in 50.020 Khz . The antena
is a ground plane and the power output 5 w.
In your station CX4AAJ , has an ICOM IC 706 and a yagi beam of 5 elements
homebrew. The other station very radioactive in SIX m in Uruguay is also
from the staff of CX1CCC , is José CX5CR and he use an TEN TEC transverter
into a Kenwood TS 140 S with 8 watts output and 4 elements beam
homebrew. This station is operating as CX1CCC , and next 13 until 20 june
, our radioclub will be CX4ØCCC as special callsign.
Here a little log of worked countries and station in general al the only

There has been a good discussion on this page about duping which led to the UKSMG dropping its annual table. I do not propose to continue this debate again as I think it is clear that the duping discussion was addressed to working those 'very rare' new countries where the whole world is desperately trying to crack the pile up. Personally I do not put LU in this category at it was extensively worked in the last cycle and there will be many more openings in coming months.

I would also like to say that threatening to name names is entirely differant to actually doing so it and the fact that another site decided to do so has NOTHING to do with the UKSMG. Please understand, the UKSMG neither condones or critises the rights of any individual to say what they want on their own site.

The UKSMG site is real time - your e-mailed views are posted direct to the page. It is therefore unfortunate that because we are linked to those pages that published names, guys wanting to make comments in reply to those messages do so through the mechanism of our interactive page. This is unacceptable, so we have now decided to break the link as of now.

I have to say this is a really sad situation and is proving to be very demotivating to us guys putting a lot effort on your behalf. PLEASE JUST READ THIS AND RESIST THE TEMPTATION TO POST YOUR PERSONAL VIEWS ON THE MATTER AS WE WOULD LIKE TO "RESUME NORMAL SERVICE AS SOON AS POSSIBLE".

I have lost a lot of sleep the couple of nights because of the problem of the anonymous postings on this page. This is extremely destructive and demotivating for those of us that put in many hours in managing this web site and running the UKSMG. You can all see an example of this below after I deleted the first few:

Fortunately however, the poster is very naive when it comes to the Internet and he obviously does not understand that every time you post a message a log of the CGI transactions is kept which records the domain (e.g. uksmg.org or yyy.zzz) of the poster!

Many ISPs allow users to create their own sub-domain in the form of xxx.yyy.zzz. For example I have numerous subdomains one of which is "comms.gare.co.uk". If the person doing the posting has his own subdomain and he is posts a message from that domain then the log identifies him as an individual even though the he enters "xxxxxxxx" as the e-mail address on the posting.

This is indeed the case with the "ITS TOOOO LATE" postings below. Here is the log record as shown below. Note the date and time.

"xxxx.yyyy.co.uk - - [02/Jun/1999:19:38:00 +0100] "POST /cgi-bin/uksmg.pl HTTP/1.0" 302 211

I have decided not to name the culprit at this time but he should realise that I, together with the whole committee of the UKSMG, know who he is and that he comes from the UK and is currently a member of the UKSMG. We will be formally debating what action, if any, we will take. I also have the ability to block access to the site to any individual who mess us around and I will have no hesitancy in implmenting a block list if it is necessitated - I hope that this is not required.

I have seriously considered taking the complete site down today. I work long hours and much of my precious spare time is spent working on this great resource for the 6m enthusiasts. If the minority that abuse this capabilty cannot suppress their need to do this I WILL close the site down which will be a great loss to the 99.999% that treat the resource is a professional and much needed focus for posting information. Needless to say, that if the individual identified above does continue acting like a jerk I will publish the log record for everyone to see. I hope that won't be necessary

Alberto, LU2EG/L22EG asked me to put this mail on the page. Dear UK 6 meters fellow: For the first time in many years, we had a big opening with "South-Wester of UK" to Argentina and Uruguay. A pile-up of stations tried to contact with me during 30 minutes that the band was open. 22 "G" stations worked me with the "Special call L22EG". Last weekend I received a new BIG one pile-up during 42 minutes with my old call LU2EG, some could contact and a lot could not. I worked 3 new countries: PA, ON , F and lost LX. Geoff: I will never refuse to contact with stations that already called me or new stations ! This is a hobbie for me, isn´t a competitions. Jim: I´m not understand Your words about " rumour was true", " Sou-westers took top wrecking it to other", it sounds ofensive to me. K5AND and I will operating from Anguilla VP2E from June 24through thru July 5 on 50 mhz. Power will be 700 watts and antenna is a will be 10 element m2. Location is great for Europe and USA. House is on cliff, 200 feet above ocean water. Location also good for S. America, Africa, and Pacific...hope to work all of you........Jimmy W6JKV/5 Beacon will run on 50.103 although if band is dead and we are hearing 10m or other indicators, we will often be on 50.110.

48.250MHz longpath - On Sunday morning (VK time - 21 - 23:00z 29/5/99) eastern VK and ZL experienced a very strong long path opening on 10m into EU. I, F, EA and other EU stations were upto S9+. During this time I monitored the 48.250MHz upto S2 or so. Not very strong but there. This is the first time I have monitored the TV over the longpath this cycle!

Hi. I've been QRT from six for more years than I want to remember, and I have a question about propagation. Have any NA System "M" TV signals on channels A2-A6 been successfully identified on the other side of the pond? If so, which ones? I'm curious about this as an amateur with the European video I've heard down on 48.250, and professionally as an engineer with a large Cable TV company. re: cluster spots. Don't rely on them! I look at the prop indicators, time of day, time of year + gut feeling. Early Sunday afternoon I had finished working some EU/AF and things went very quiet for awhile. I cranked the beam due south and waited. I knew there might be a small chance for Es-F2 linkup and I was not dissapointed. While the EU's were working LU/CX I had a brief 10 minute opening to the same places (LU/CX) much to their surprise. As far as I can determine I was the only one here in the North East of NA to work them. Nothing special by any means but my point is this: == if I had to wait for the cluster spots to roll in- - they never would have. I had people sending ME talks to see what I was working and where I was aiming. Ciao, Mike-ve9aa (cu all of a sudden!) ve9aa.....P.S.-BTW, I am dissapointed to see 'fake' cluster spots from all over the globe. I am not referring to busted calls, appearing as though they are rare DX, but deliberate attempts by some to create excitement amongst those who DO rely on cluster spots to lure them into thinking '3y5x' is on 50.110 (or whatever, you get the idea). Shame shame. What more can I say?

CE3BFZ in FF46 was worked at 1838z on 50.112 Was working several F stations in JN09 and J010 before hand. Was called by G3FPQ after me but he lost him. QSL is in the post. Any further rumours I need to answer ? I would suggest that in such openings some people should listen rather than screaming your head off at the 99th LU in GF05. In addition, since <1% of the 6m people use the DX cluster its a fairly unrepresentative example of whats actually happening.... Bye, Keith G4FUF.

Ofcourse I sit in the shack whole weekend. Not very spectacular Es during the day. Went for a nice diner and missed THE opening sunday evening. Was active monday evening without real DX. Heard some locals here saying they worked Mexico...Did not see any spot at the clusters here on internet. Is this true? Are we talking on real things? It seems I am on the wrong spot at the wrong time last month. Missing the nice stations and have no DX cluster with packet radio because of the node went down. By the way DX clusters are nice, but do not rely on it. You will see the spot when the opening is gone. 73,

RE:CE. I saw a spot from G4FUF that said he was 57 on 112 in South of the UK. PA3FF said he heard him for 15 secs on 115. That's all I know. I have sent 'FUF a cluster e-mail asking him whether he actually worked him. I have not seen any other comment or intelligence that leads me to suspect he was heard - let alone worked. It does surprise me as there are the rather high Andes between FF57 and FF46! The previous CE worked last cycle was in Punta Arenas in the deep south of SA. Chris

I heard SP/mm state he would remain in JM36 for a few days, while awaiting instructions on where he was being sent next. Eric, F5JKK, sorry dont know G4FUF. I understand Chris, WOS is trying to find out more about the CE "QSO(s)". You were very strong up here on BS during the SA and KP4 openings. Spoke to JY9NE on 12 yesterday, he is QRV with 100w, but only a dipole, has been working 9H/I last few days. Nothing heard here yesterday from SA or 5H3, although I did hear IO91 stations calling him, nice to see he was on cw, maybe he read the "top tip" on here over the weekend hi!
