For the last week or so we had daily TEP openings to 7Q
land, band opened "like a clock" around 17.30 UTC each
evening with 7Q7SIX beacon and immediately after 7Q7RM calling CQ
on .110; also we had a couple of openings toward V51 during the
same time but nobody seems to be QRV from there. Great TEP season
and frustrating in the same time due to low activity. Does
anybody know if the 6m -> 2m repeater in V51 is still
operational and what are the exact frequencies? I've tried
transmitting on 50.200 USB and listening on 145.500 FM but with
no results so far, if anyone has any info please let me know!

It is interesting to see geoff Browns price on the IC706
Mk2 at 850 pounds which equates to $1923 Aussie Dollars. The Tax
out duty free price is $1965 here, so Geoff's offer seems to be
genuine. No one is making any money at these prices. Question is
how well does it work??

Has anyone tried out the new IC706 Mk 11 yet? How does it
compare with the Alinco? What cost in USA and UK? Compared with
tax out price in VK of $2000 and $650 for AT180? retails at $3000
and $800 for tuner. If anyone in VK wants one I will possibly buy
one on the way out to use for three months on my trip, and will
offload it on the way back. Let me know, you will save $1200.
Reports welcome to my email address.

Yes VK6RO it was 49.750 r1 TV and last night same thing at
0800z and later at 1000z when my wife turned the rig off cos it
was making such as noise! I leave the dial on 49.750 with FM mute
on that way it captures any TV video and will only open on a real
signal, not on noise. JH4JPO reported VK8VF again on 9th
September and I think we should have a chance in October seeing
as how we worked JA's in feb when the flux was below 80!!!

I am looking for another 6m rig or maybe a quad or triband
rig that at least includes 6m on it. Open to various ideas but
not interested in any really OLD tube-type relics or things like
the tr6, sb110, ft620 etc.(hi) What I might be interested in
would be something like : ts-60(or 50), dx70t, ft650,
ic551D(maybe), ic575, ic729, ts660, ft726r, ts690, ts680 - you
get the idea. Could "possibly" also be interested in a
nice 6m brick w/150w+, gaasfet, etc. or smaller Hf mobiles to run
with my present 6m transverter. Have to trade/swap/barter various
combinations of : TS-530s,100w HF rig, cw filter,RIT/XIT
expanded, mc50 mic, manual FT-101e, 100w hf rig, ac/dc, cw
filter, desk or hand mic.30M/17M MODs fan, external cw level adj.
etc. FL2100b hf amp, in really nice shape-I am the second owner.
4cx1000a kW+ tube HTX-100 10m SSB/CW 5W/25W mobile, Mic/manual
TR751a 2m allmode in good (but not perfect shape). mic/manual
Laptop, Epson650 Actionote, 486dx, 240mb HD, 4mb ram, lcd screen
is cracked and barely usable. Needs new screen or can easily be
used with a desktop monitor of your own. Some ham software on it.
Was a "CY9AA" dxpedition casualty, hi! Landwehr 432Mhz
mastmount preamp. Something smoked...no guarantees on this item.
Some other odds/sods like small keyer,4cx250r's, mics, etc....
Thanks ! reply to BOTH of these addresses please as I travel on
weekends: and:

Advice please. I want to run 400/500w on 6 metres plus the
higher HF bands, preferably on the same amplifier. Would prefer
to modify a modern-ish amplifier such as the Ameritron AL80B if
possible. Any advice ? Can you point me towards any 'proven' mods
? Any help appreciated.
