Treasurer, Mike Wills - G3OIL treasurer@uksmg.org
Serving the Committee as Treasurer. First licensed in 1960, my main interest was 160m. It took me two decades to persuade myself that trying to work dx with a pint sized antenna was masochistic and so I sought another challenge which might be satisfied with an antenna which would fit into an urban garden. Thus I found my way to six metres in the early eighties. I have dxcc number 132 from the days when power was very restricted and there was no dx cluster! I have been Treasurer of the UKSMG for around twenty years.
EMPLOYMENT: In the real world, on leaving school after being advised by my somewhat Luddite careers master that there was no future in my preferred career, electronics, I became a teacher of English and PE. After spending a long period in Sweden I returned to the UK in 1979 and started a private language school. After selling the business in 2006 I was appointed as part time Ombudsman by the national association of state and private English language providers. Apart from work and amateur radio I spend my time writing novels, and sailing.

Secretary, Chris Mortlock - M1ABK secretary@uksmg.org
Joined the committee as the membership secretary in 2019 and then the Secretary from 2020. Also picked up the "What's On Six" column from Spring 2021. Passed RAE in 1984 but didn't take up a licence until 1996 as M1ABK, always interested in 50MHz and 70MHz, now serious about it! Can be found in contests and activity nights on 50MHz albeit with restricted antenna height, also have HF capability when there is nothing interesting on 50Mhz
OFF AIR ACTIVITIES: Ex archer, enjoy electronics in general especially repair and renovation of Drake, Collins and Heathkit with a substantial collection of them!
EMPLOYMENT: Was recruited into the National Air Traffic Services and worked at Heathrow airport on ILS, Ground Radar and Comms. Then moved into the budding comms industry through AIRCALL and CELLNET into IT and then WAN design, Business Process Outsourcing and security ending up working in HM Government security and then various Chief Information Security Office roles, currently a global CISO for a large Multinational private company.

Webmaster, Awards, and Contest Manager, David Toombs (Dai) - G8FXM (M3FXM) g8fxm@uksmg.org
Served the Committee as Secretary from 2002, then as Webmaster from 2007 and Contest Manager from 2013. First licensed in February 1972 as GW8FXM, and GW6AJR/T a few months later. Active in ATV in the early years, operated mainly on 2M and 70cm (ATV Only). As an avid DXTV'er I developed an early interest in 6M and this has become my preferred band. Also active on 4M and 10M. Can be found on other HF bands when conditions are poor 10/6M.
OFF AIR ACTIVITIES: A one time glider pilot and a brief dalliance with hang gliding, following my time with the Air Training Corp as a cadet and civilian instructor. I have a wide range of interests including Telecommunications and computer networks.
EMPLOYMENT: I left school in 1969 for a career with the then GPO shortly afterwards known as British Telecom and have worked for many Telecom and Internet Providers since including Cable & Wireless, MCI, Worldcom, PSINet, Verizon and a period owning my own consultancy business. Currently working at Vodafone.
